Students Visit CFFCM

Over the course of the past school year, several hundred children visited the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum. Many come in the late spring to release trout that they have cared for as part of the national "Trout in the Classroom" project. Some are visiting the Catskill area on general outings and are including CFFCM as one of their stops. While others are participating in special environmental programs or fly fishing weekends such as the annual event hosted by the Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock. Whatever their reasons for visiting, all leave with a greater appreciation of our environment and a sense of wonder that only hands-on learning can bring. With our 55-acre campus, the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum is in the unique position to offer a variety of experiences to children and we custom-tailor our programs to the teacher’s curriculum focus. Here are some pictures of recent visitors to CFFCM: junior high students from Walkill, NY and 3rd graders from Liberty Elementary. If this looks fun to you, please consider helping out as an educational volunteer. We’re planning the 2005-2006 program offerings and would love to have your help in the process. Give the office a call at 845-439-4810 or email us at for additional information.
