Series IV Cane Rod Raffle to benefit CFFCM

One of the highlights of this year¡¯s Somerset, NJ Fly Fishing Show was the presentation of the Series IV Cane Rod created last fall during the annual Cane Rod Makers Gathering [see our website for pictures of the event]. This was the 4th year that the rod makers built and donated a rod to the museum for fund raising purposes. The Series IV rod is a 2-piece, 7-foot 4-wt built on a Gillum taper. It comes complete with an extra tip, Bacon reel and Phoenix silk line. Unique to this year¡¯s raffle is the addition of Nantucket-style rod and reel cases crafted by master weaver Darryl Arawjo of Pennsylvania. Tickets for the Series IV rod raffle are available for a $20 donation and limited to 500 tickets. Please contact the office at 845-439-4810 for additional information.

The 2003 project ¨C the Series III rod ¨C raised nearly $8,000 for CFFCM and the lucky winner was David Wimberly of Wellesley, Mass.
