June 2005 Calendar of Events

Livingston Manor, NY – June 1, 2005 – The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum announces its schedule for June 2005. Listings are as follows:

Through October 31, 2005 Museum On Daily Schedule

The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum is on its daily schedule through October 31 st. Museum hours 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is $3/adults, $1/children under 12, and free to CFFCM members. For more information, contact the museum at 845-439-4810 or email flyfish@catskill.net.

 

Through December 31, 2005 Currently on Exhibit: Flies from New Zealand

Take a look at the artistry of New Zealand fly tyers in the second in the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum’s series of international exhibits exploring the work of contemporary fly tyers. Work by 25 of the country’s best tyers, accompanied by landscape photography and selected New Zealand fishing ephemera and first editions, is on display through December 31 st. Through December 31, 2005 Currently on Exhibit:
Roland Harriman: Banker and Fly Fisherman

While his brother Averell made his mark in politics, Roland Harriman spent his life in banking. But both brothers valued nature, inspired by their father Edward who believed "leave whatever you touch better for having touched it." The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum recently received a selection of Roland Harriman's personal fishing collection, along with materials related to the establishment of Harriman State Park in Idaho. These items will be on display through December 31st. Admission is $3/adults, $1/children under 12, and free to CFFCM members. June 4, 2005 CFFCM Guest Fly Tyer: Chuck Neuner
Chuck Neuner will demonstrate fly tying from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum. Admission is $3/adults, $1/children under 12, and free to CFFCM members. For more information, contact the museum at 845-439-4810 or email flyfish@catskill.net.

 

June 11, 2005 CFFCM Guest Fly Tyer: Bob Levenson

June 18, 2005 CFFCM Guest Fly Tyer: Alan Podell

June 20-24, 2005 Cane Rod Makers' School
The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum is hosting a 5-day cane rod makers school where 8 participants will craft a hand-built, two-piece fly rod out of bamboo. Tuition is $1,200/person for CFFCM members and $1,300/person for non-members and includes: all materials, 5-nights lodging at the museum, and breakfast & lunch daily. June 25, 2005 CFFCM Guest Fly Tyer: H.R. Gevedon
