Through October 31, 2005 Museum On Daily Schedule

Through December 31, 2005 Currently on Exhibit: Flies from New Zealand

Take a look at the artistry of New Zealand fly tyers in the second in the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum’s series of international exhibits exploring the work of contemporary fly tyers. Work by 25 of the country’s best tyers, accompanied by landscape photography and selected New Zealand fishing ephemera and first editions, is on display through December 31 st. Roland Harriman: Banker and Fly Fisherman

While his brother Averell made his mark in politics, Roland Harriman spent his life in banking. But both brothers valued nature, inspired by their father Edward who believed "leave whatever you touch better for having touched it." The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum recently received a selection of Roland Harriman's personal fishing collection, along with materials related to the establishment of Harriman State Park in Idaho. These items will be on display through December 31st. Admission is $3/adults, $1/children under 12, and free to CFFCM members. September 3, 2005 Annual Summerfest and Anglers' Market

More than 40 vendors will display their wares at this annual Labor Day Weekend event. Food, children's activities, fly tying and casting demonstrations and more make up this family-oriented event that begins at 10:00 a.m. and continues until 4:00 p.m. All-day admission is $2/car and including parking. September 3, 2005 CFFCM Guest Fly Tyer: John Roetman

September 10, 2005 Book Talk with Author Bob Werner

Bob Werner, author of Freshwater Fishes of the Northeastern United States [Syracuse University Press], will discuss both the common and unusual species found in our Catskill rivers and streams at 11:00 a.m. at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum. September 10 - 11 10th Annual Cane Rod Makers Gathering

Cane rod makers from around the country will converge on the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum for the 10 th annual gathering. Two-days of workshops and demonstrations on the art and craft of bamboo fly rod making are available to both registered participants and the general museum visitor. Museum admission is $3/adults, $1/children under 12, and free to CFFCM members. September 30-October 2, 2005 Willow Creel Workshop

Three-day class where participants will create a willow creel suitable for fishing or use as a purse. Instructor is Bonnie Gale, a master willow basket maker and students need not have previous basket weaving experience. Limited to 12 students, tuition is $350/CFFCM members and $375/non-members and includes instruction, all materials and use of tools, meals and overnight accommodations .
